"Closing time...every new beginning comes from some other beginning’s end."
This song perfectly summed up what I think of today - the last day of 2011. Thank you each one of you that stopped by my humble blog. Hope you have a great new year celebration wherever you may be and see you in 2012. Cheers! :D
Despite the awkwardness of the lyrics, my K-Pop crazy sister told me that the translation is actually correct. You can't imagine my reaction when I finally saw the video above - it's just too damn hillarious!
Never in my heart and my mind that I look down on Bahasa Melayu but truth to be told, there are a lot of times where direct translations really sounds so hilarious. I guess that is why Malay love songs usually use deep and beautiful words; often with deep meanings. Some example: Dato' Siti Nurhaliza's Bukan Cinta Biasa, Krisdayanti's Mencintaimu and Tan Sri P.Ramlee's Tunggu Sekejap (this version was sung by his wife, Puan Sri Saloma); just to name a few.
So...yesterday, I went for a workout over at the gym. Since I haven't weight myself for quite sometime, I decided to check out how heavy I am these days. The number that I received was...82KG. O MAI GAS, SO HEAVY. :o
My weight reminded me of this song.
That being said, I admit that I slacked a lot in 2011 in terms of health as I failed to balance between work (you can't burn midnight oil without snacks! xD) and fitness despite participating in many runs. Obviously, nothing going to change when it comes to work; in fact, am going to keep on pushing for the win - go forth! - but I believe I definitely can do something about my fitness next year.
Hence, one of my resolutions for 2012 is shed couple of kilos or at least maintain it to be under 80kg. I would also like to achieve better time in my runs next year, hence I hope to set new PB for my 10K and 12K. At the same time, will I move on to further distance in 2012? Well...nah, I don't think so. I would like my body to be lighter before I go further - for the sake of my knees and joints.
Chuck Norris Facts meme might be very very very old but man, they are still funny like its 2005. Just don't repeat it too much though because by then, its not that funny anymore and Chuck Norris himself will roundhouse kick your face.
Apparently, Blizzard has acquired the service of Mr. Norris for one of their recent commercial for World of Warcraft and used the meme as the subject for the ad. Not bad, Blizzard. Not bad indeed.
I had a great time during last year's Penang International Bridge Marathon, so I make sure that I'll be back once again this year. As per last year, I will be taking part in the 10KM category once again and judging from the route, I believe the experience is most probably going to be same as well. Of course, last year's race was pretty wet thanks to unexpected torrential storm and I kinda like that rather than a dry event.
I didn't put any target or even have intention to break the time I did last year which was around 1 hour and 10 minutes. My aim is just to have fun and enjoy the sights. If you participating as well, see you at Queensbay Mall this weekend then. :D
By the way, Alice "ali" Liew is an actual professional gamer. Part of the renowned SK-Gaming, she got couple of title under her sleeves including multiple Electronic World Sports Cup title in Counter-Strike and has been featured in MTV True Life: I'm A Professional Gamer. Mad respect there.
I admit, the first time I watched this short movie I got teary eyes but must maintain my poker face because I was at the office. Hey, don't judge me. See it for yourself, tersentap jiwa weh.
First, it was "oh, so sweeett", "woah, such determination"...then, suddenly at the end, WHAT? WHY? NO WAY. Enter teary eyes. It just shows that perfect love does not always end perfectly. Wuu wuu wuuu T.T *sniff*
Excellent but sad movie aside, the band behind the music for this excellent short movie - titled "Cupid's Fall" - is called Once Upon A Time There Was A Sausage Named Bob and they will be having charity gigs (yup, gigS) dubbed as SAUSAGEFEST! to benefit the StART Society for the next two weeks. My band The Wishing will be playing at the first part of the gig this coming Thursday, 17 November at The Bee in Jaya One, Petaling Jaya.
Although I'm gonna be missing from the lineup this time around, am still gonna be at the gig to show support for my two bandmates George and Jason as well as the rest of the lineup and of course, the gig organizer - Bob The Sausage! Not to forget, the cheap sausages. So, come over and check out the gigs. For more details, check out THIS Facebook listing. Be there! :D
Yup, I just got my Nike We Run KL race kit today which include a Nike Dri-Fit running top specially produced for the event. So, drivers in KL who is going to drive around on the morning of 27 November please be alert of my bib number - 17955 - and DON'T LANGGAR ME PLEASE! Ok, I know the bib number might be too small but still... xD
Also in the pack which comes in a handy bag are a Nike water bottle, event guidelines and of course, the ever important timing chip.
See you at Padang Merbok, Kuala Lumpur on 27 November! :D
Nike's We Run KL returns again this year! Just like last year, the 10KM run will take over the city of Kuala Lumpur again on 27 November. Last year's event was so much fun; so it is pretty obvious that I'm participating again this year and man, I almost didn't get to secure my slot because the registration was full in just 60 hours! Crazy!
But just like all other running events out there, race kit collection comes first or else, you can't run at the actual event. Since the Nike We Run KL booth is just around the corner - Lowyat.NET HQ located in Mid Valley City woh - at Mid Valley Megamall, so I decided to pay the booth a visit yesterday before I collect my actual race kit later today. So, here are what they got to offer apart from distributing the Nike We Run KL race kit to the runners.
Bunch of iPads for visitors to sign up for free access to Nike+ community.
Free computerized foot scan complete with printout to detect your foot type, in which the staff use as guide to match which Nike Running shoes is suitable for you. That is mine and it said that my foot is rather neutral, heh.
The Nike Running's new Shield range of shoes - including the LunarGlide+ 3 Shield - are also on display.
I personally really like this bib numbers deco. Think when I've enough bib numbers in my collection, I might do the same thing at home. xD
Well, that's all for now. If you picking up your Nike We Run KL racing kit later on, don't forget to say hi. :D
Images were snapped with Sony Ericsson Xperia Active.
On the day before my birthday, I received an early birthday present from a nyan-tastic friend named Audra. It is...a Back To The Future t-shirt. O MAI GAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHH *dances*
Too bad I don’t have a DMC Delorean and Nike MAG to go together with this awesome shirt. Thank you once again Audra, you are far too kind. *hugs* Its even more awesome when its also the only birthday present I received this year. *manly tears*
Edit: Well, there was actually another birthday present from one of our good friends...a drink...that I can't actually drink. Still, appreciate the thought. xD *LOL*
Am in no way dissing vegetarians everywhere but Cookie Monster’s baby cousin no like cookie? WHAT IS THIS, I AM DISSAPOINT IN YOU COOKIE MONSTER BABY COUSIN.
But then again, just like what Ernie pointed out, you just can’t force one to eat if the person don’t like it. There, yet another lesson for all of us from Sesame Street.
Another new season, another set of new collection. Nike Sportswear has dropped huge amount of new designs for this holiday season across all kinds of clothing such as polo tees and t-shirts as well as kicks. They are quite a number of them around - in which you can see in this gallery - but here are some of my personal favorites:
They are readily available at Nike Stores and your favourite sports retailers nationwide. For ladies, stay tuned; the folks at Nike Sportswear got something for you as well. ;)
I have something that I’ve been meaning to get off my chest for quite some time. Think this of emo to end all emo.
So, apparently…it has been almost a year since it happened and every single day since then, I actually wished death upon myself. Every single time I wake up in the morning, I’ll be like, “Here I am. What am I doing here? Why not just take me away? You took my spirit my away, might as well as kau tim me once and for all, eh?”.
The fact that is I can’t stand being a sad and lonely after the love of my life left me just like that; through a single phone call. In just a snap, I suddenly have nothing to look forward to in my life again. Out of sudden, there is nobody I truly want to talk and hang out with at any given time of the day as it used to be. There are no more comforting words and supports that would help me pass through difficult times. NOBODY.
My everything gone just like that and that is a hard, man. Really hard.
But then, this always hits me: what good would death brings to me? There are still millions of miles of planet Earth that I’ve yet to see. There are more than 6 billion people that I’ve yet to meet. There are numerous stories to tell. What more important…there are still a lot of HISTORIES and MEMORIES to be made.
Hence, I’m telling myself right now: I’m 28 today, I’m single, alone and lonely but I am OK. I got this. I FUKEN GOT THIS.
So, that is all. The bitchin’ stops here and forward I go. Think I’ve waited long enough.
Diablo III Beta and the matching official Diablo III special edition t-shirt by J!NX. Jangan jelly. =P
Thanks for the beta access to the game, Blizzard. Also, thanks to Malaysia's J!NX Premium Reseller, Robotica Toys for the awesome shirt! They are having a year-end sale right now, so you might want to check them out for some cool gaming shirts especially for Blizzard games fans.
Held at DiGi’s HQ in Shah Alam, OctTwtFest was no doubt a massive event. So massive that it has been certified as the world’s largest tweetup. It was beyond a simple gathering of Twitterjaya - a nick given to the Malaysian Twitter users – as there were just tons of activities on that day including non-stop music performances.
The appearance of Joe Flizzow, Altimet & SonaOne was just one of them. If you somehow missed the event, check out some photos that I took at the event for Lowyat.NET. Enjoice! :D
Some people took ages to figure out what to dress up as during Halloween but fortunate for me…well…I can just wear a Brazil’s jersey…and voila, I’m Ronaldinho! :p
But of course, I got couple of other, more interesting ideas as well. Although zombies are kinda in these days – maybe because of the popularity of Walking Dead? – but I would like to rope a mate in and dress up as the folks above. Kinda kacang to pull off (I think) and it is appealing to everybody. Who doesn’t like the Yip Yip Martians?
Either this, Domo-kun or Pedobear. YIP YIP YIP YIP YIP YIP YIP YIP
During my trip to the HTC Regional Launch – which saw the launch of HTC Explorer, Radar, Rhyme and Sensation XE smartphones – few weeks ago, I made a stop at this popcorn joint called Garrett that many of my friends have been talking about. It was really an unplanned I was wondering aimlessly along Orchard Road looking for a quick lunch before I depart to the airport and bam, I stumbled upon a branch just outside the Liat Towers.
Over at Garrett, there were couple of popcorn flavours around and I chose the Chicago Mix which is essentially a mix or their caramel and cheese popcorn. Yes sir, CHEESE. I took a medium size worth of popcorns that cost me around RM 27 (SGD 11) and it hit me just like that when I took the first bite:
My god, it was so good. Yes, it was not cheap when converted to Ringgit Malaysia but man, it was worth the money. They didn’t call it gourmet popcorn without any reason, you know…anyway, it became my lunch that day.
Meanwhile, It turns out that Garrett is about to open a branch here in Malaysia. The location is at Suria KLCC, just behind Uniqlo. ME GUSTA.
Let’s hope the pricing will be at least the same or lower than those in Singapore. Can’t wait to taste ‘em again!
Around three weeks ago, I was invited to Singapore by Asiasoft to check out their upcoming online first person shooter called Alliance of Valiant Arms (A.V.A). Held at the massive Colosseum Cybercafe over at the Illuma Shopping Mall, I got to say the preview - PREVIEW, not even a launch - event was pretty elaborate. The screen...man, the giant screen were just too massive for me. Wicked.
As for the game itself, I would say that it looks pretty good in terms of graphics. Guess that’s what you get from a game that uses Unreal Engine III. However, I’m not a fan of the map design. Of course, I tried only a handful of them but still, I’ve found them to be quite cramped. Also, I only tried one mode and didn’t get the chance to fully test out everything that A.V.A got to offer.
Well, the game's Closed Beta Test is going to start at the end of this week, so I most probably going to play it next week. If you are curious what A.V.A is all about and would like to check it out yourself, just visit their official website to learn how you can participate in the game’s upcoming beta test sessions. Have mercy on me if you see me online in the game ok...am a n00b here.
God damn, Freddie; you are 1000% right. Happens to me quite a lot of times whenever I take over a friend's control over a game.
If you have no clue of what is inverted control in a video game, read this out. Clearly, you have never played a first person shooter before or have never dived into the options area.
It must have been a thousand years since they last played this song - called Summer Romance (Anti-Gravity Love Song) from their S.C.I.E.N.C.E album - in live show. Ok, I might exaggerated a bit there but you get the point. Last time they played this song live was during their Morning View tour.
Regardless of that, my favorite live performance of Summer Romance is still this particular acoustic version of the song. Well, maybe because their previous bassist which I idolized, Dirk Lance was in it...but still.
Glove: check. Camo pants: check. Invisible radio: check. Epic role playing in public like a bawse: CHECK.
The clip is a bit long at 13+ minutes but seriously, just try to stay put until the end. I can't do it personally though as I was laughing my ass off every single minute watching this particular gamer playing Ghost Squad by Sega.
I'm amazed at the fella behind him - the one wearing glasses and a cap - can watch all the "action" with a straight face without even laughing. Also...did he choose a panda suit for his character in the game? Really, a freaking panda suit? *LOL*
You know what...I bet the fella have the Wii version of the game at his home too. If not, how would he remember the game's script?
So, you like the new trailer of The Avengers eh? Who doesn't, right? Well, if you wonder who sang the song in the trailer, wonder no more - it's called We're In This Together by Nine Inch Nails.
What a fitting song for such a winning trailer...don't you think so? HECK YEAH.
I bet by now, after watching so many pre-Avengers movies such as Iron Man 1 & 2, Thor and Captain America: The First Avenger and of course, the newly released trailer, you should already know who are The Avengers. But just in case you didn't know - Y U NO WATCH AFTER CREDITS SCENESSSSSSS - the video above is a perfect crash course on what The Avengers are all about.
Also, for all How I Met Your Mother fans out there, Robin will be in The Avengers as well. Gah, May 2012 is so far away! D:
Hey Maria, Count Me In is the first All Time Low’s song that I knew (second being I Feel Like Dancin’ which I just heard on radio few days ago) because it is the very cover song that my band - The Wishing - jam occasionally. As indicated in my previous post, I really like their set although I wished their bassist was around to make their sound much more full.
If you wondering, yup, those hanging on the mic stand were bras. Good times.
To be honest, Rockaway 2011 was not 100-percent my cup of tea. Yes, it was a rock show alright and yes, it was filled with many awesome local bands; but as for the intertnational performers – Story of The Year, All Time Low and The Used – I personally not really a big fan of them. But all in all, I did enjoyed myself immensely over there. It was a great gig by Livescape Asia, so kudos to them especially Rahul OBS!
This is a massive picture post, so click on that Read More link to check out the views from Rockaway 2011!
"A moon ring, also known as a winter halo, is a phenomenon that usually appears in conjunction with a full moon. There appears to be a whitish ring, approximately 10 to 20 times the size of the moon, surrounding the moon and centered on it. It is caused by refraction of the light from the full moon in the ice particles floating in the clouds, as opposed to a rainbow, where light refracts in the water vapor that makes up the clouds."
Last night, the winter halo caught the attention of Twitterjaya peeps including yours truly. Naturally, I snapped a picture of it which coincidentally shined brightly right above my home. You only need one word to describe it: "HUGE".
You're just a fantasy girl
It's an impossible world
All I want is to be with you always
I give you everything
Pay some attention to me
All I want is just you and me always
It is really an impossible world and I can't read other people's mind. So, why should we destroy a good run? Smile is always better than a frown. It is ok if it takes a toll on me as long as the smile stays. :D
I think I gonna regret posting this up...NAAAAHHHHH.Dirty Signs with Kristin is really made of gold. I was converted to a fan instantly for obvious multiple reasons.
If you have watched Scott Pilgrims Vs. The Worldbefore, then you might already know the origin of "You Cocky Cock!" insult. If not...well...you can always check it out on YouTube.
So...what's the sign language "You so cute, Kristin. Wanna go out sometimes?". Yeaaaah, I take things slowly rather than going with this particular pick up line although I don't actually mind if a girl ask me that. /insertinfiniteevillaughter
[Found via Girls With Slingshots - one of my favorite webcomics around; go check them out!]
Many said that Britney Spears didn't have what it takes to be on the stage with the eternal King of Pop, Michael Jackson on that particular performance but for me, its otherwise. Britney's whisper-ish and sultry voice sets the song's mood pretty well. Plus, she was totally hot during this period of time. Just check out that toned bodehhh...mmm hmm.
Yup, random post is random. Have a good Sunday, y'all. :)
Apart of the awesome Nike MAG shoes made a lot of people go nuts including yours truly, the guys at the Swoosh - led by the legendary Tinker Hatfield - have actually designed yet another signature prop for Back To The Future II: the Marty McFly's jacket. Personally, I don't find the jacket is as beautiful or futuristic as the Nike MAG shoe in terms of aesthetic. In fact, it actually looked like Micheal Jackson's Thriller orange jacket to me. Not saying that the Thriller jacket ain't great - heck, I would definitely get one if I got the means to obtain it - but both of them were so...80's.
Of course, it were the features like self-fitting and self-drying system that grabbed a lot of attention. I wonder if this jacket actually inspired them to create Dri-Fit fabric since that name itself kinda described both of the jacket functions. Too bad they didn't produced it alongside the 2011 Nike MAG (which I'm gonna check out in the next ChapKixView).
Sure, the MAG shoe most probably will be more popular than the jacket if they get to be released together but nevertheless, I believe a lot of Back To The Future fans, science fiction geeks, movie buff, Swoosh fiends and fashion connoisseurs out there would still want a piece of the McFly's jacket.
So, I saw the latest episode of the famed =3 Internet show. Instead of the usual host Ray William Johnson, it was a huge dude named Gabriel "Fluffy" Iglesias. Apparently he is a stand up comedian and about to have his own show on Comedy Central. Must be pretty big deal then, I thought to myself.
Hence, I head on to his YouTube channel and found the clip above. It is a bit long at 8-minutes but really, check it out. ABSOLUTELY HILARIOUS. No doubt that it is pretty racist but hey, you can do that with close friends as long as they allowed it and not get offended when they returned those salvos back to you.
Well, if this is too racist for you, his other materials are good too especially his ability to make those voices. Gotta love that.
If you remembered, last month ChapKixView's talked about this particularQuickstrike-release and guess what, it has just dropped into the country. The usual premium kicks dealer, Sole What already have the Nike Dunk Hi AC QS from Deconstructed Pack in both bronze and black colorway at their stores in The Gardens and One Utama right now.
Cost to the wallet? RM 349. Not a bad price indeed. Here's an actual photo of the shoes, released by Sole What:
Call me slowpoke but yeah, I just found out this: Hasbro apparently is coming out with a movie that is based on one of their most famous board games, Battleship. I'm sure many of us have seen this game before, so...le fuq? How you make a movie based on a very simple guess-based board game? Well, judging from the trailer, it is apparent that the single biggest thing that both the board game and the movie actually share is just the name. Haiyoh... -_-"
Meanwhile, what's with Hasbro and their fetish with aliens? They already built Transformers around that premise and now, they are doing it again with Battleship? Ades...but as usual, let's see how the movie fare later on. For all I know, it might be good, right?
Never before in my life I'm so excited about a shoe. Not even for my first pair of Nike. It doesn't even matter if its existence has not been confirmed yet. It doesn't ever matter if I'm not able to obtain it even though it is real. I'm just so stoked about to possibility of seeing one of my childhood dream becoming a reality.
When I visited the Universal Studios in Los Angeles in 1996 and saw the Nike Air MAG + the Mattel Hoverboard that were displayed at the now-defunct Back To The Future: The Ride, I thought to myself, "This shoe going to stay as a movie prop forever,". Last year, I wrote about the self-lacing system that Nike patented in 2009 and I still thought the same. But today, things have changed with the emergence of this video.
If this is true, then Nike Air MAG is going to be to biggest drop of the year, if not all time. For me, not even the upcoming Air Yezzy 2 can even top this one.
""In the tradition of material innovation of AM 90, i constructed a running shoe using the most powerful, must durable and most delicious material known to man: hamburger," - Olle Hemmendorff.
If it is not obvious enough, yes, I was pretty hungry when I wrote this post. In addition to that, I was also going through some photos of Air Max 90 "Harimau Malaya" that I shot recently.
Oh, what is that? Did Nike released a Malaysian-themed shoe? Well, that is not actually the case...look out for the post very soon. (^_^)b
Eh, when the last time I actually wrote a FFFUUU Tales? Oh right, when my 7-years relationship ended last year. Sad times, indeed. Well...screw that, let's hear some funny tales.
Apparently, my age has became a somesort of debate recently. I mean not among friends - who usually thought I'm around 23 or 24 when I met them for the first time (thanks for your compliments hehehe :D) - but it was among my relatives. I guess it most probably because I didn't see them often enough but when they asked my mum about my age, she answered...
"Oh, he's 30.".
What the heck? Mom, I haven't hit tiga puluh lagi! I'm not that old lah...wuuu wuuu wuuuuu (T.T)
Yesterday, my sis said the same thing when her visiting friends asked about my age. When I pointed out that I still have two years to go before I hit 30, she answered "Oh, kita bulatkan saja, itu sebab 30 tahun,". Damnit, kena troll by own sis FFFFFUUUUUUUUUU
Hence, I'm obliged to end this post with this song:
"Bawaku ke mana saja kau suka, timur selatan barat atau utara,
Kau ingin aku selalu, you'll be my Malaysian Boy...Malaysian Boy."
Oh boy, I have wished so many times that some girls would uttered those very words to me (and really meant it). Hahaha ;)
"Malaysian Boy" is a remix of Estelle and Kanye West's American Boy which has been given a Malaysian flavor through a collaboration between Altimet, DJ Fuzz, Ila Damiaa, Point Blanc and Rabbit Mac in conjunction with the Merdeka celebration, as well as a promo for the upcoming Suara Kami 2011 - a massive and not to forget, FREE music festival that is going to take place on 17 September at Stadium Merdeka.
The message behind the song and the accompanying music video is pretty obvious - "unity", as explained by the commentary at its YouTube's page:
"This video takes you on a journey of this beautiful country, from rural to urban, across different landscapes and people. The strong connection between Malaysians of different races and cultures convey a single message of 'united we stand'."
Doesn't matter if it is based on another song but what important, the way they deliver the message pretty JADI and was done so nicely. For example, I felt that Altimet's part of the song mainly described the love of Malaysia:
Keliling dunia dua tiga kali, ku tahu hanya satu perkara pasti,
Selagi bumi di atas paksi, bila tiba masa aku kembali.
I'm sure if I can understand the song's Chinese and Indian lyrics, I would quote them as well. In addition to that, the video was completed within 10 days of its premiere on Astro. Man, the final product certainly did not show that at all. Seriously amazing.
Hope they going to put up the song for download (legally) soon because I really want to rock it hard through my iPod. Can't wait to check out its live performance at Suara Kami 2011 soon!
So, if you are a frequent user of the always reliable uncle Google and pay attention to its logo, you would realized that on certain day Google would change them to specially made logo that signify important occasion on that particular day. Today, the logo is draped with ketupat and Jalur Gemilang to signify the celebration of Aidilfitri as well as the 54th Merdeka Day.
Yup, that is us on Google's logo. How cool is that? As cool as having two celebrations in the same week. Meanwhile, Happy Merdeka Day to all Malaysians out there and be safe wherever you may be! :D
While the word "Raya" is mainly associated with Hari Raya but truth to be told, there are more to the word "Raya" than just the joyous occasion that we celebrated today. Let uncle Jalil Hamid explain it to you with this classic and hilarious song about the usage of the word "Raya".
Bila sebut pasal raya
Semua ingat Hari Raya
Tapi jangan pulak kita lupa
Ada seribu satu kata berkait dengan raya
Selain Hari Raya
Kalau banyak harta benda
Orang itu kaya raya
Kalau tempat lalu kereta
Itulah jalanraya
Hentian bas ibu kota
Itu di Puduraya
Di tengah bandaraya
Kalau banyak jalanraya
Dipanggil lebuhraya
Bunga lambang Malaysia
Namanya bunga raya
Tukang menyelenggara, mengawas harta-benda Jabatan Kerja Raya
Gembira kita di hari raya
Makan kenduri di balai raya
Kalau kita malas nak puasa
Kita sama macam hantu raya
Selamat, selamat hari raya
Mari kita kumpul duit raya
Selamat, selamat hari raya
Kita semua jadi kaya raya
Membeli jalan raya
Selamat Hari Raya Aidilfitri to all that kind enough to read my ramblings here. Enjoy the holiday and all the goodness that comes with it! :D
This particular Nike Sportswear's Dunk High is not like the usual Dunks that we see at stores. You can say that Dunk High AC is like a combination of Dunk (its top area) and a Blazer (fat Swoosh logo and vulcanized sole). Hence, the Dunk High AC looks pretty old school which not really my thing but this particular one actually looks damn sweet.
Part of the Deconstructed Pack that are scheduled to hit the stores next month, what attracts me to this particular Quickstrike release - originally said to be a Tier 0 release - is the color. From initial photos, I thought it is gold but it actually turns out to be bronze. The color is further complemented by the white sole and black laces which resulted in one hella smooth-looking shoe.
There is also a black version of this shoe but I'm prefer the bronze colorway way more. I dunno whether I will able to cop this up or not but it does rank pretty high on my target list for this year. If you are a kix fiend with an able wallet, the Nike Sportswear Dunk High AC Premium QS Bronze is priced between RM 371 (USD 125) to RM 400 (USD 135) and already available for pre-order at Kix-Files.
Doesn't matter if I already blogged about Ramona before here - back in November 2010 - but as you can see in the clip above, it is a different song. So, the story goes that yesterday, Scott Pilgrim vs. The World was premiered on HBO globally (I think), so the movie became trending on Twitter and subsequently reminded me of the song above. Immediately, I spent few hours trying to learn it.
Composed by Beck specially for the movie, the song is so damn simple but as a musically challenged guy, it's so hard to sing and play guitar at the same time. Haih.
Frankly speaking, there is nothing wrong with celebrating his + Public Bank's achievements. I mean, look at how the bank progress since he established it back in 1966 but maybe the song was indeed a little bit excessive. At one glance, it might looks like one of those Great Leader songs from North Korea.
Brilliant lyrics though, kudos to whoever came out with them:
Oh oh oh oh oh, oh oh oh oh
Welcome Tan Sri Teh
Cheering loudly for Tan Sri Teh
Man of honour, a living legend
Let’s rise up now and sing out loud
He’s our champion
Make us feel proud
He gives us mission, gives us fire
Gives us vision, takes us higher ...
The rest of the lyrics you go watch the video lah ok? Am working hard now so I can have enough moolah to build a cult like Tan Sri Teh. Oooohh oooohhh oooohhhhh.
Pretty old release but really, this music video by Love Me Butch is one of the best music video to ever come out from our independent music scene. Enough said.
Meanwhile, I want to go to Hollywood again. A proper trip this time; not just a visit to Universal Studios which I was fortunate enough to visit back in 1996. I want to just roam around in the area; maybe catch a concert, visit a (real) film studio, check out skate spots or something. I don't know...this is just one of my random thought earlier today.
Maybe I just need a holiday. A proper holiday. For myself.
Last week, I had a very great weekend. I got to see the yet to be released Street Fighter x Tekken two days in a row; it doesn’t really matter if fighting games were not my forte but what important was that on the second day of the preview, I got to see how happy the selected Lowyat.NET forum members at the event. All thanks to Sony Computer Entertainment Hong Kong and Sony Malaysia for organizing such a wonderful event as well as giving our forumers the opportunity to check out the game in the first place.
Furthermore, on Sunday, I got to check out quite a lot of hype stuff as I went for hype browsing together with our resident hypebeast, SexyLucas Lau just before I went on to do my assignment. Right after the assignment was over, we went for iftar and hangout with few more friends. Of course, not to forget than my lads at Manchester Unitedmanaged to came back from 0 - 2 deficit and sau Manchester City to win the FA Community Shield.
It was even more amazing that the vibe continued until today when we iftar together (again) just now. Imagine that the iftar session happened pretty spontaneously through Twitter over the past few days and all I know, we managed to get bunch of us together for makan2. Even though we were beat up by the unforgiving beast that is Monday, I believe it was all good at the end of the day.
Hence, this song is dedicated to all my friends...wherever you may be. Past, present and future. Good times. :D
"Ku mengharapkan Ramadhan kali ini penuh makna, agar dapat ku lalui dengan sempurna."
Without realizing it, somehow Ramadhan has arrived once again. If you asked me a year ago, I couldn't ever imagine the changes and things that I have experienced within the past year.
A year ago, work was tough. Very tough. Still, I got a very loving girlfriend – we were together for the past 7 years - that helped me go through the tough times a lot. Truth to be told, she is pretty much my best friend. I got a bike; it was just a 7-years old 125cc scooter but still, it let me travel around to meet friends and do stuff. The only country I visited outside Malaysia as an adult was Singapore; went there pretty much every year since 2008. My musical instruments seemed to be gathering dust on permanent basis. Financially broke almost all the time.
This year, work is still tough but doesn’t feel as tough as before. They are getting more challenging as our organization is expanding (again) but I believe I’m able to manage things better. The girlfriend of 7 years left me which pretty much means I’ve also lost my dearest best friend as well. My 7 years old motorcycle finally gone for good, so now I’ve to move around using public transportation.
I’ve visited Singapore again few times (it’s my favourite country in the world, after all) but in addition to that, I was fortunate enough to check out Australia and United States as well. I’m now in a band called The Wishing and we just got our first gig few days ago. Still not financially well but I managed to eat fancy better food more often these days.
See, how much things have changed within just a year. I can’t tell you whether things are better or not but I’m certainly know that I’m not happier because I got nobody to share my life with anymore. More fulfilling life is maybe the word but with nobody to share stories on a more personal level, I feel it is pretty pointless. Still, I’m taking things as they come by, one after another.
That being said, Alhamdulillah, between all of these changes, my family and friends - old and newly found - are around to further support me going through these changes; whether in major or minor way. Hence, whenever Ramadhan arrived every year, I prayed and hoped that these great people in my life will be blessed with happiness and prosperity all the time. Of course, I did that every day but I do it more during this blessed month.
So, Happy Ramadhan everyone, may it treat all of you very well. :D
Oh hey, what do you know…missing for quite some time, then suddenly a review comes out here! Well, that is just how I roll these days…let’s go straight to the story.
Recently, I was fortunate enough to spend some time with Samsung’s latest smartphone, the Galaxy S 2. If you can recall, the smartphone was first unveiled at Mobile World Congress 2011 in Barcelona earlier this year and was made available to consumers globally starting from May onwards. It officially landed in Malaysia just a mere two weeks ago with much fanfare at Mid Valley Megamall through a launch event supported by Maxis.
It started with single...then double...and now, the backflip limit has reached the realms of triplets. The fearless Middle Earth New Zealander, Jed Milton went down a giant ramp and pull off the world's first TRIPLE backflip just recently at his native home.
Seeing from the sidelines is one thing but the helmet-cam view is just off the hook:
Dude didn't just go gungho on the ramp but as expected from any crazy attempts like this, dude did quite some preparation as shown in this behind the scene clip. So, now that triple backflip is done and done...who going to break this limit next?
Sometime ago, I wrote about a number of my favourite Queen's Bohemian Rhapsody parody which included the one made by The Muppets. Then, came this parody...in fuken Rage Comic form.
What a great tribute from one of the greatest Internet sub-cultures to the one of the greatest songs in the world. Me gusta.
So, I got a friend who is a big fan of My Little Pony and he - don’t ask why he love the show - shared this video. Now, before you shrugged off and say, “Ala, he just wants to justify himself for watching the show,”; seriously, just take a look at the video below. You might learn couple of awesome science stuff especially if you skip physics classes during high school.
Now...I feel like watching the show already. Damn you, Nazrin.
Damn son, I love Indomie. Hasn’t had it in a while though. It is ok, I can imagine eating it right now while listening to the song below. Feels good, mang.
...or more like a BMX park. The guys at Nike 6.0 - the sporting company’s extreme sports arm - UK took over a decommissioned swimming pool and turn it into massive riedable park for BMX. They even opened it for public to ride until the swimming pool is closed for good sometime in June.

So, if you somehow in UK and a maniac on the pedal, check out the The Pool before it’s gone.
